Since January 1st, 2023, the second edition of the new sports boat license card has been issued. In 2018, the ID1 card replaced the previous boat license for inland waterways and lakes.

On 23 May 2021, the professional driver’s licence was introduced as an ID1 card for professional drivers. This as a new addition to the family of driving licence documents, which can be recognized by their uniform security features.

The current version of the EU driving licence has been in circulation since 1 January 2021. The new generation excels through improved security features.

This comes with a chip that contains the holder’s biometric features. These features can be used to check whether the passport and the person really belong together, for instance, at automated border control systems with biometric procedures.
